Retain and Deepen Your Lucid Dream State

Be Active – Stay Lucid!

In mastering lucidity, the key lies in active participation without overly immersing yourself in the dream’s relaxing or passive aspects. It’s a delicate balance between being an observer and an influencer of your dream world. Staying lucid requires a gentle yet conscious effort; think of it as steering a boat with a light touch on the rudder rather than aggressively taking control.

Increasing Lucidity level by palms observation

Stabilize As Soon As Reality Decreases!

When you notice the vividness of your dream beginning to diminish, it’s crucial to immediately apply the stabilizing techniques you’ve mastered. Focus on sensoric engagement within the dream by intensively feeling your hand palm with the fingers of your other hand, while closely observing the lines on your palm, or by exploring any other nearby object with great detail.

This approach emphasizes direct interaction with the dream environment, honing in on the sensations your dream body perceives. Such tactile and visual engagements are pivotal in anchoring you within the dream, maintaining an alert and focused state of mind that ensures the dream remains lucid without propelling you towards wakefulness or drifting into a non-lucid dream.

Adhere to Your Plan!

Lucid dreams can be surprising and alluring, with events and scenarios that entice you. However, it’s crucial to stick to your plan. Straying too far into the unpredictable currents of your dream without purpose can cause you to lose lucidity. Your plan is your anchor; it keeps you lucid and in control.

Resist False Awakenings!

One of the trickiest experiences in lucid dreaming is the false awakening, where you believe you’ve woken up but are actually still dreaming. To counter this, practice reality checks regularly:

  1. Focused Observation:
Select a small point in your environment and observe it intently for 10-15 seconds. In waking life, reality remains stable, but in a dream, odd changes are likely to occur.
  2. Breathing Test:
Pinch your nose and attempt to breathe. If you’re still able to inhale, you’re still in the dream phase.

Come Back from Awakening

However, should you find yourself waking up, don’t be discouraged. The first 5 seconds upon awakening hold a golden opportunity for you to dive back into the lucid state without any complex techniques. Simply intend to separate from your physical body again, as if you’re peeling away a layer to re-enter the dream. This window of opportunity is brief but powerful, allowing for multiple re-entries into lucidity if you act quickly. By recognizing and utilizing these moments, you can significantly extend your lucid dreaming practice, exploring deeper and longer within your dreamscapes.
